My Camera and I

Thank you for visiting my website. My name is Heather and I’m passionate about photography, especially macro flowers and animal portraits.

I’ve carried a camera around with me since I was a child and have been practising ever since! I love taking pictures. I take inspiration from the natural world, with a special appreciation for the impact of colour. Taking photographs has made me more aware of my surroundings and the environment. I like to think I have a keen eye for detail and perspective.

My goal is to capture images which reflect everyday natural beauty, flowers, animals and the occasional portrait. I hope you get some pleasure from my photographs. I try not to alter the images too much, if at all, and they are mainly taken hand held and in their natural environment.

I use an Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark III camera and Olympus lenses, and over the years I have used Lumix and Canon. I use Olympus now, not only because they are amazing for detail, but because the cameras and lenses are light. This means I can carry 2 or 3 lenses with me, giving me the ability to adapt on the go.
